Originally founded in Harvard​, HerCampus is an online magazine targeted towards a female demographic. It serves as a platform for college students to express themselves in areas like culture, lifestyle, travel, politics, relationships, and just about anything worth writing about.

During my time as a staff writer I was able to publish articles regarding areas that are important to me such as travel, being environmentally conscious, and managing anxiety. This was one of my favorite involvements throughout my FIU career because I had the opportunity to truly push myself out of my comfort zone and put a piece of me out into the world for everybody to read.I believe this involvement helped me grow as a person because it helped me discover a passion I didn't know I had and it helped me interact with other people and understand and explore different perspectives.

 

I also worked hard to design the graphics in my articles and make my pieces stand out. Unfortunately, HerCampus changed their image policy to avoid copyright incidents and established a system where you need to pull images from their specific gallery for your articles. This meant that all images before-hand became broken links and most of y articles now have no visuals, on the brightside, the important content which is the writting is still there.
