Student Ambassador, Spring 2017 - Spring 2018

Towards the end of my freshmen year at FIU, I was so passionate about the university and the strives it had made the short time I was there, that I wanted the opportunity to instill this passion in others. I ran across the Student Ambassador program through my search of future involvements and through a rigorous three-stage selection and interview process I was offered a position in the program effective the Spring 2017.
Student Ambassadors connect the FIU student body to FIU alumni and donors. We bridge this gap between the two groups to serve as the student voice and representative in hopes to portray the schools values of hope, knowledge, and opportunity. We are present at the events hosted by the Alumni Association such as the Torch Awards as well as running and planning events of our own such as Trail of the Torch. We also gave campus tours to visiting alumni and focus on showcasing progress and growth on campus.
Through my journey as a Student Ambassador I was present in many events that upheld global awareness, my favorite being showcasing to donors and alumni the works of art and pieces in the on-campus Patricia and Phillip Forst Art Museum. Both Patricia and Phillip were present at the event and it was an honor to meet them and thank them for the contributions they have made to our university.

The FIU Alumni Association’s mission is to serve the FIU community by providing lifelong connections to the university.
Through fundraising, volunteer opportunities, engaging programs and events, they help enhance FIU’s future by providing the necessary resources to sustain excellence in academics, research and community service.
